It includes: visa support, access to computer class and internet, access to the library of EUSP, institutional support from the Department in what all kinds of documents needed to access to archives and libraries are concerned.
Help is provided in organization of ethnographic, folkloristic and other kinds of fieldwork.

Affiliated students have the right to attend any classes at the Department, lectures and seminars. Most of the classes of the regular curriculum are in Russian. Affiliated students are not, however, given credits for the courses, unless they pay a fee calculated from the number of credits corresponding to the course, USD 40 for one credit; the courses vary from very short to very long and, correspondingly, give from 1 to 8 credits.

One of the professors of the Department will be designated as academic adviser, that is, he will help you to find your way among the resources available.

Russian language courses are not part of the Departments curriculum, but it will be possible to find an experienced teacher or group classes. You will have to pay for the classes.

The University does not provide accommodation, but will help you to find suitable reasonably priced accommodation in St.Petersburg.

The length of your stay depends on your research plan and is not limited by the University. So, if you find it useful you are free to remain in St.Petersburg for two semesters of more.
